Just got a headlight harness and for the life of me I cannot find a good play by play thread on how to install. Is there a good one here? Trust me, I need a really good picture pages instruction guide.

Never mind, I figured it out! I didn't realize that the old wiring was kept intact.

Was wondering what this might be. It's on the number 4 injector. The jeep has an alarm installed by the PO via a shop. Was thinking maybe it was a sensor of some sort for the alarm?

It's the signal wire for remote start. Let's the brain know it's running.

I am doing my parts pile up for my lift kit, currently in full strip down stage on my heep. I am doing a 4.5" RC lift with ACOS adjustable spacers for some adjustability. I was wondering what length of shock I need and I am also looking in to doing lower BPE and upper stud eliminator brackets. so the shocks would be eye to eye as opposed to eye to stud

You would need adjustable shocks.

So I have been looking at lifting my old girl by 3" nothing major but just to give her a more aggressive stance. I'm assuming there is but aside the initial lift itself (coils, shocks and leafs) is there any other hardware I should replace to make sure she doesn't start to misbehave? I've never lifted anything before so I'm kind of a noob and I want to do it right.

Yes! There are lots of very important parts and miscellaneous hardware to consider.

But first things first:

2. Handy dandy reference chart, which is a sticky in the Modified Tech forum:



Hardware-wise, it depends on rust. Guys living where 50F is considered "cold" can get away with a lot more than we do here up in Saltopia. I replaced every single nut and bolt I removed - for me cutting them off was faster than unseizing them - new fasteners for shocks, yes everywhere, hubs, control arms, new shackles, new suspension bolts, U bolts, brake parts, all that crap. I also did my entire steering linkage. Best piece of advice is to make a list of the stuff you intend to replace with your lift, crawl under your Jeep and investigate both how that part is removed and what it affects.

Went to the JY today, picked up a front driveshaft and some 703 injector from a 97 plymouth. so 2 little questions

-the driveshaft is from a 96 with a np231 while I have a 96 with a np242. both d30 HP. I have never measured the length of mine so I just went ahead and bought it anyway. Will it fit or that was a waste? What about if I get a SYE eventually, would it be possible to use it as a rear driveshaft?

-best way to clean the injectors? I was thinking of getting some kind of power source and connect it to a switch with a plug going to the injector and pass some brake cleaner through. does it make sense or there's simpler ways to do it?

Factors that change DS length are transmission and axle. It'll fit.

Yup that's what a ton of people do. Apparently there's a syringe size that an injector will fit right into and you can put a straw on the other end for the brake cleaner. Some YouTube videos demonstrate this. I couldn't find a syringe so I used tubing and the pump from a spray bottle lol

Drug stores can be a pain in the ***. I don't know if you have TSC in Quebec, but any farm-oriented place will have veterinary supplies that should be a good fit.

So I'm new, lol.

I just got a Jeep Cherokee 1994 SE tan model. 208.5k on it, and the previous owner had it since it was new, never having changed a single thing except the oil, oil filter and brake fluid.

In the first four days, it broke down being a given. (It was dormant for 12 months in their yard)

Physically in wonderful condition. Internally... Not so much.

Got her a tune up(spark plugs rotor blah blah) , New fuel pump, New brakes and calipers, and a pioneer sound system with a Bluetooth JVC. Other than that, completely stock.

I really want to play with this thing, and build on her. My brother in law has a 90 Cherokee with like 500k on it and he just rebuilds everything under the hood when it stops working.

It's an inline 6 4.0, and don't judge me but I'm not the most educated in vehicles at all. So be easy on me

I'm looking for basically anything I should could or suggest to do. So far, I would like to do everything listed. Homebrew, cheap, expensive, whatever it is I want to hear it.

The 4.0L isn't a high power engine, but it has more than enough to get the job done on and off road. If you really want power, look into building a 4.6 or 4.7L stroker. There's a 4.5L "poor man stroker" but I wouldn't waste my time doing one on a 200k+ engine.

If he really only changed those fluids, you probably need to change your transmission, differentials, transfer case, coolant, power steering fluids.
