Its a good idea to prevent future floor pan rust, even on the bumpers and panel trim. Some people have even done the entire outside of their jeeps
POSTED THIS 4 DAYS AGO AND NO RESPONCE!!! Does anybody have a clue?I am new to the forum but not to the Cherokee Scene! I have 3 Cherokee's and love em all. BUT I recently purchased a 99 sport with the 4.0 in it and when I got it it had been sitting for 6 months or so. It started right up and ran like a top. After driving it 10 miles or so it started surging. This got worse, then it started flooding and blowing black smoke. This was periodically at first but got to where it did it most of the time. I went 98 miles on a tank of gas. I let it set for a few days then it wouldn't start at all. Checked the pressure on the fuel rail and there was none. So I put a pump in it, still no pressure, checked the wires at the tank and none seem to have power but the fuel gauge works. I can start it up on either but that's it.
You have a case of bad gas man it sat and turned to varnish which clogged the fuel filter. when you put the new fresh gas in it started to clear it out which made the gas less-flammable. it doesn't help that when you run bad gas through the engine it fouls the plugs BAD and they no longer have the ability to light fuel so the poor spark and bad gas caused the flooding and the 98 miles to the tank same thing unless its the 13 gallon tank then its normal for a cherokee LOL good luck AFTER you change the fuel filter and spark plugs throw some Lucas fuel stabilizer in the tank with 91 or 93 octane
not hijacking this I swear but i also have a ?...recently had a no start issue so I ended up trasing it down to CPS had broken off the mounting braket that holds it on the bell housing...well I reglued it back on (super glue) because that's where it had broken lose from is where it was glued....now jeep with start and idle fine but when you hit the gas it's VERY slugish and backfires like crazy and have no power at ALL. Any ideas?
Can you tell me how can i get a signature like you ?

I have water leaking into my front floor pans. Just a little on the drivers side, but tons on the passenger side.
What's the common, if there is one, source for this? Door seals, leaky windshield, etc

Bedliner. Almost every Cherokee owner has either bedlined their floor pans or have considered it. There are many brands and heavy debate on this site which are best. Avoid any store brands. Brands to consider are, Herculiner Rust-Oleum Raptor Its a good idea to prevent future floor pan rust, even on the bumpers and panel trim. Some people have even done the entire outside of their jeeps

Likely leaking from the top of the front windshield in the corners. Mine was doing the same thing. Replaced the glass and the new rubber seal solved the problem. You could have some significant rust in those corners. Easy enough to check. Just pull the rubber away from the body in the upper outside corners of the glass and look.

Also, anyone know what size the bolts are for the hanger for the tailpipe? The one holding on my hitch is still there, but the one closer to the front of the car is gone.

Hi everyone. I am new to the Cherokee world.
I just got a sweet deal on a 92 Laredo only 118,000 miles.
Everything seems pretty solid I would just like to redo some of the wiring if not all. The jeep has the Taurus fan conversion and the factory electric fan in it already. it currently runs through three relays and is only hooked up on the hi setting.
I would like to take the low setting of the fan and wire it to my ignition, the high side to one leg of a 50A 3way switch and run both fans on the other leg of the switch.
Does anyone see a problem with this? Would the second fan draw too many amps being combined with the Taurus?
Does anyone have a link to some good "Novice" wiring diagrams? Or experienced suggestions?

What's the best gasket sealer to use when replacing a water pump?
1996 4.0 Cherokee country
Also, would it be a good idea to flush my heater core at the same time?
