If they're not tapped into the frame rail just buy new bolts. Hell get the bolts anyway.

POSTED THIS 4 DAYS AGO AND NO RESPONCE!!! Does anybody have a clue?I am new to the forum but not to the Cherokee Scene! I have 3 Cherokee's and love em all. BUT I recently purchased a 99 sport with the 4.0 in it and when I got it it had been sitting for 6 months or so. It started right up and ran like a top. After driving it 10 miles or so it started surging. This got worse, then it started flooding and blowing black smoke. This was periodically at first but got to where it did it most of the time. I went 98 miles on a tank of gas. I let it set for a few days then it wouldn't start at all. Checked the pressure on the fuel rail and there was none. So I put a pump in it, still no pressure, checked the wires at the tank and none seem to have power but the fuel gauge works. I can start it up on either but that's it.

Take the bulbs out of the taillight assemblies and inspect the sockets. Bulbs also.

RESPONSE

There is no logical way that a bad fuel pump can cause flooding.

There's another issue somewhere.

Describe "seem to have power". That's a bit vague.

PS: You would have gotten more responses posting in OEM Tech me thinks.

I was thinking the same thing....

Injector might be stuck open pumping too much fuel in... in which case, you may be close to hydraulic-ing a cylinder

Def gotta be more descriptive. You buy a vehicle that's been siting for 6 months, crud could have broken loose and clogged something for all you know.

What routine maintenance have you done to said vehicle when you first brought it home

I have a d30 with an Aussie locker in it, question is would it be more work to swap the locker or just swap the axle? Both are 3:55 and high pinion. I have mechanical knowledge but never done lockers or gears

Both high pinion? I would swap the locker if they were both high pinion. If the one the locker is in is high pinion swap the axle if the one on the jeep is low pinion.
Also if you already don't have the 297 u joint shafts in the axle in the jeep swap those in if the other axle is 95+

The one with the locker is out of a 92 with abs and it would go into a 96 without abs

Linkage is not the same if I remember correctly. And both the axles will be high pinion with 297x ujoints then if the 92 is abs.
Just swap the locker

You could, make sure to check the backlash and gear marking pattern if you do. I would just take the ring gear off and pull the locker and put it in the carrier from the axle in the jeep
