I did it! Thanks guys! I poured about 32 oz of water into a hot engine, after about 20 oz there was a smell that I'm assuming is the carbon burning off, I decided this smell was good and kept going. Finished up the cup and adjusted the trans kick down cable (next to throttle cable, I don't remember the name) and went for a test drive. The jeep ran great! Feels smoother than ever! So now I have to know how often can I do the water trick without causing damage? I'd like to do it atleat one or two more times just to be sure it's as clean as possible, aslong as it won't hurt anything. I'm getting ready to sell or trade the jeep for something with more towing power, so I want to get it as sweet as possible. Thanks everyone!

YOu could do it every day if you want. No damage.

Neat trick, eh?

What if you atomize the water with a mister? I feel like that would give it a more even coverage in the cylinder. Are you just pulling the intake boot on the throttle body and dripping it in?

I'd think the air intake velocity/cylinder temps/compression and piston speed probably do plenty to atomize the water.

Quick question, I'm looking for a used ax15 and I found a 2wd version for fairly cheap can I un bolt the tail cone and place my 231j in its place without modification? I would rebuild it if I bought it.
Thanks all.

You're wimping out. That's what's happening then. Man up and pour the water in.

I can see how it'll atomize decently inside the cylinder once it gets there. My reasoning for doing that is so I can get even coverage across each cylinder. I would imagine i'd be constantly pumping the mister bottle until the idle tries to drop.

Which also makes me wonder... I wonder if people in very wet rainy climates have cleaner combustion internals.

I mean, I probably burned out some carbon when I hit a creek at 60mph and almost hydrolocked my motor. I don't recommend it, though.
