What's the best adhesive to stabilize my controls in my door trim? My passenger side rattles and it makes the locks fire on & off. I was going to just hoopty fix it with RTV but not sure what else there is.

Anyone know if the axle sticker on 8.25s reveal any real information or just a bar code?

I'll let Cruiser guess what I've got on order at the moment. This time I ordered two, just to have a spare in the trunk.
I am eager to know what the result of Jones' helper 'washing the motor', which surely was done improperly, and very possibly caused damage to 'something'. Which something [or plural] was damaged? TPS? IAC? PCM/ECM?

Is what's "on order" a result of the improper engine washing?

Jones, please fill us in - Thank You.

Default Gear whine on deceleration.

Just got my gears replaced, again. The front and rear ring and pinion are brand new.

I'm getting a ton of howling from them on deceleration. This has been happening since I had the jeep regeared originally.

Is this normal until break-in has been achieved? Please tell me it is because I do not want to take my jeep back into the shop.

Also does anyone know a good 4WD shop around Radford, VA? I've found a few in Roanoke, but I'd rather know of some place nearby.

Sounds like someone can't set up gears... Hope they warranty their work.

X2 on this - gear lashing is not correct if you're getting whining with knew gears.

Yep, TPS it is. It's the second time my gopher has tried to help.

After the first time, I told him not to wash it without letting me know, but he's somewhat "challenged", so I cut him a lot of slack, even after he did it a second time.

I've got a couple of DD's, so no big deal. He is going to change the wheel flares while it's parked.

The screws mount to the sheet metal of door, maybe slightly bigger screws. Hot glue may be an option, it can be removed easier than RTV.

Gear ratio, not sure what else.

That is strange, vacuum related maybe.

My son's hasn't got to that point, but if I bump it with knee or arm they fire.
I would think RTV would be easier to remove. Heck, he still has duct tape holding window up. His ride, his fix. I'd fix it if he bought the parts, needs a regulator.

Shouldn't be. Most of the time I drive around in either 1-2 or 3. I've always had an issue with an emission caused CEL, I'm wondering about the O2 sensor since it is happening before running temp of the engine.

What is there to know? Gear ratio and the year break of shaft splines are about the only applicable info unless you found some rare LSD.

There are differences in input lengths of different 231's, not sure about 242's though.
