Just thought it was cool. It clearly says 3.55 and within the numbers there is a 98 which i'm assuming is the year since it came out of a 99.

What is the lowest bs that will work on a stock 97 cherokee with a 15x7 and 235/75r15 without sticking out past the flare. I want to buy rims with a 3.75 bs but im not sure if they fit.

The block shouldn't effect the geometry that the shim will change but it's more things to move around under the leafs.

Would be better off with an extended shackle if you are on stock shackles. 1" block I do not recommend, block and a shim is a recipe for disaster.
Longer shackles do affect geometry slightly. Points the pinion upwards.

Long story short version. 97 xj shut down on hwy, got towed off. thought it was the crank sensor" replaced it". Checked distributor, Whole shaft gone! "replaced it". Timed to TDC manually. While driving frequent sputtering. I'm told there is a sync problem between the cam and crank sensors. Diagnostics cannot pin point the problem. I'm told different opinions by various mechanics. There could be a short in my engine harness. My Question is How can a harness short out for this situation? And should I just have my whole harness replaced? Rather than being raped by a mechanic charging 105$ an hour labor to look for a short. Does anyone have a solution that can help me. Please!

I have weird problem, whenever I accelerate either from a stop or getting on the highway my temp gauge will instantly drop from 210 to 100 as if its just started up. What could cause it?

Default Towing XJ 2000 or 5000 lbs???

What is the true towing capacity of the 2000 XJ sport 4.0? Does anyone tow more than a popup tent camper? What impact does a 3.5 Rub Exp short arm lift with 31x10.5 R15 have? What consideration should be taken if the lift was upgraded to 5.5 with long arm and 33x12.5 R15? Published reports for my XJ vin number is 2000 lbs towing capacity while the various off road businesses and trailer sales have 5000 lbs for the Cherokee/Grand Cherokee 3.21; 3.55 & 3.73 gears. How do I physically inspect and determine what gears I have (the ARB locker installed before I purchased required 3.73 or greater gears. Thank you, newbie to this off road venture.
