How do you remove the HVAC control panel on a 97+? More specifically the vaccum tubes connected to the middle control.
They've thrown me through a loop last time I looked at it. I need to replace the HVAC control panel the blower motor resistor fried and took the fan speed selector with it.

If I recall correctly there are small metal clips kind of like speed nuts that hold the silicone fitting onto the back of the switch. Once those are off you just pull. When you break the seal there will be a hiss.

I don't believe my rear driver side tire is spinning. With Command Trac, shouldn't both rear tires spin?
I've tried the old, "Floor it and try to watch". I was just wondering if there is another more definitive way to tell if it is working?

If traction is equal between rear tires, than they will both spin. Otherwise one rear and one front tire will spin. Both Command and Select-Track in 4-PartTime, open differentials.

I know exactly what little clips you're talking about. I remember seeing them. I was running out of day light though. Should get it out this time around. I'll have a practice run at the junkyard.
Question though, should I go ahead and swap out the blower motor while I'm doing all this? I have another already that seems to be decent shape. I've heard the blower can cause issues when it starts to go. When I pulled my blower resistor it was corroded and falling apart and smelted in an area so I chalked it up to that taking the switch out of commission.

Yea I tend to shy away from CF during the winter months, a.k.a. hibernation. The weather is breaking and so is my Jeep, so I'm back.

It looks like the wire got a little warm. I can see some discoloration of the platic on the connector for the fan speed elector but it doesn't look that bad.
Could the blower be bad and still work on hi? **** I need a multi meter. Its at my dads.
OK found out there's a relay for blower motor, and relay for hi/low switch, can't find location of either.

Well dammit. I swapped the control panels. LEDs and all, still only get fan on hi. I imagine there's a relay for this system somewhere I can find where. I checked the fuse (again) still good.

Relay is part of the blower motor assembly and just supplies power. On or off. Issues with speeds are the resistor or the wiring or the switch. Note the resistor is part of the ground path

I eliminated the relay, fuses, HVAC control (unless the JY one is shot too), blower motor.
Tomorrow when I have daylight I'm gonna check thru the wiring and the resistor again.
Replacing wiring sounds like a pain.
