Im hoping someone else chimes in. I never towed that heavy with my xj before. You may be able to drive in 3rd and be ok.

Like I said, the heaviest I towed was about 1200lbs with 0 issue. But when it starts getting into the 3000lbs range is when I wonder. But at the same time, the surge brakes make me feel better lol. We just need all these old folks to get out of bed and finish their morning tea lol

Are your axles geared? If you're not geared then I wouldn't even try.
Since you're in Florida and it's mostly flat you'll probably be ok(If your axles are geared). Any long grades with that load and your transmission will likely hate you.
Take it slow and I'm sure it'll be fine.

What sensor is this? It's right by the battery, my heep will drive for a bit then die but if I mess with this sensor it usually starts until it dies again and its getting really frustrating because I'll be driving and out of nowhere it'll start stalling and die, its the only bug since I replaced the motor that I can't figure out

No gears... Lol. I just take the truck with the v8 lol. It was more of curiosity when and if I just wanted to go and the truck wasn't home.

I towed my in-law's 97 XJ on a car dolly using my 90 XJ. So that woulda been around 3500-4000 pounds. It was about 15 miles, all I did was use my power transmission button. Don't know if that helps you.
