If you would stope breaking the xj it might be happy. Now if the light comes on when you are "braking" then you might have a wiring issue. First rule of thumb with warning lights. Green means something turned on. Yellow means get it checked out. Red means stop. See how warning lights work like stop lights? So if its a green light I see no issue or cause for you freak out. If you can get a pic of this indicator since I have no idea what a "chassis" light is we might be able to point you in a direction of what it means

Do I sense sarcasm? 97+ has that stupid hatch open indicator. Well they have them with full gauges, not dummy gauges. My inlaw's 97 XJ has the light on since I put in a full cluster. Been thinking of removing that bulb.

Is there a sensor that's easy to remove? Or just remove the bulb?
