I've asked several mechanics, and the answer's I've gotten is the bolts need tightening in the steering column...it's most likely a Saginaw design?, and the entire column needs to be taken apart...

I hope you have some guidance for me....I would also like a good mechanical drawing so I have a reference....

SALAD....the filter I used is a Bosch. Expensive. The wife bought the filter & oil with a list I made. She had no idea about filter prices obviously ! I don't use Fram, but would likely have bought a less expensive one than the Bosch.

Besides, Cadillac didn't even have a full flow filter until 1960, and Chevy either until 1956. Any filter has to be better than none !

I bet! Never bought Bosch but their filters I recall are solid units.

Pressure increase is a normal thing when going from a -30 to a -40. Can't remember if I typed that.

I've seen it do some amazing things. Like not fall apart upon landing from being airborne.

You need to checkout Motorkote.com. There stuff is proven. I've used it and would recommend it to anyone. Walmart sells it, some Auto Zones.

It doesn't change anything in the oil, it's carried by the oil to where it is needed. TRY IT, YOU MAY LIKE IT. as they say

Absolutely... I have a soft spot in my heart for the FC. Really really cool trucks. I'd LOVE to have on and paint it ODG and have a canopy made for the bed. Make it all old-school mil-spec looking. Mmm mmm mmm.... yup.

I would check the tire pressures and make sure they're set to factory spec, about 30 PSI. Tire stores have a nasty habit of inflating your tires to MAX pressure which can result in the symptoms you describe.

I see what you're getting at, but I also have had the same problem in my '92. I always have a little play in the steering wheel as well because my steering is worn out and I really just need to replace it, but for some reason on colder mornings, there is a "dead space" where it's not just play in the steering wheel, but literally you turn the steering wheel about an inch and nothing happens before you get to the "play" and then full steering. It's almost as if the tie rod end is loose or something.

What would happen if I put 3.55 axles behind an 4.0/ax15 on 235/75's?
