Happy New Year everyone. I found light colored oily drippings at the bottom passenger side of the front bumper. I am guessing it is from the AC compressor as the AC lines to the condenser are badly rusted, and I did use it the other day to defog the windshield.
Does this sound correct?
Also, if it is the compressor, is there a chance it will seize and leave me stuck? I think it is the original compressor so it may be on its way out anyway.
Thanks.

My phones not letting me add the link for some reason. I'm searching on Rockauto.com at 88 xj and 3 pop up. The cheapest is near 8" and the two more expensive options are around 6 1/4" x 6 1/4".
I'll attach a screen shot of what I'm looking at. I'm not sure which will fit. Also the cheaper one doesn't seem to have a mounting tab like the other 2.

Questions here: Previous owner towed my jeep 90% of the time he owned it. It was rarely driven but at campsites around the country. He disconnected the AC and Heater core years prior to me getting it.
Over the past year or two I redid the entire AC, but would like to get the heat working.
What would I loose if I tried to put new Heater core hoses on and gave it a shot to see if it worked? What's the possible out comes I have?
Coolant on the floor? Heat? Leaks?
It's cheaper to buy hoses and try that then pull the dash and replace the core for the hell of it I'm thinking.

Your garden hose has more pressure. If you have the time, after flushing, with both hoses on, fill with water, suspend from hood overnite or longer, and floor would be wet if leaking.

! Back to my Jeep and its steering column wandering...tire pressure is at 30psi. How do I put into a word or words the sound turning the steering column makes when I use the vehicle first time of the day? Not a clunk, clink, or clack...when idling in park I turn the wheel L & R and it sounds like an old spring stretching...you can chuckle, I am!...and if you can interpret that description, well, please share! Then, usually after the first drive the column doesn't make that sound anymore, tho there's still that bit of play/delay in the wheel. Someone mentioned his steering may need R&R...how does one know the difference between loose bolts or bad steering?

gag me. So tired of PC
