Anyone used the Transgo 340-HD2 shift kit in there Jeep? Also where can I get the valve body gaskets?

Is a reman'd alternator worth the savings? I think my alternator is the source of my trouble. Noticed some cracks in the housing. They seem pretty easy to replace minus fishing it out of the engine bay.

Ok so every time I wheel I always seem to blow the shock tower bushings in the front. I switch to polyurethane thinking it would do the trick, but nope last time while rock crawling I blew them. Anyone have any remedies. I'm running 5.5 long arms with the basic white body shocks. Any remedies

Do you have the right length shocks for your suspension travel?

NO. I work at a parts store. 9/10 of these come back in a month or are broken in box. I've even seen the reman. process and its very poor. Pulled one out of a box yesterday with a shot bearing then I tried another alt. Same kind broken mount.

My zj has got some slight wobble at 45+mph. This is an ever so slight play in the wheel when you shake it.

I can confirm its not a loose control arm, loose steering or bad ball joints.

The slight play in the unit bearing just doesn't seem drastic enough. But if it's the only thing with play, I guess I've answered my own question.

Shoot I hope so, but I'll measure. I bought the long arms as a full kit so I just assumed. Thanks.

This 97 XJ I bought yesterday has a long arm kit I'm not familiar with. It only has one lower long arm on the passenger said and on the drivers side it has the lower long arm and a bracket off the side for the upper arm. Weird. Never seen this before. Anyone know what brand this may be and is it normal?

Build sheet says I have a 124 amp alternator. Is it okay to replace it with a 117? I don't use my AC (its unplugged and doesn't work) and have no aftermarket stereo / lights. Just a cd/tape deck & putco harness lights.

Yes it will work. But why downgrade?

Can't find any 124s and don't want a reman. Can I just drop a 160 bolt in style? I have no plans to put lights / winch etc on this thing ever. Daily driver.

If you can get it to mount the 160 amp will work but you may need to upgrade your wireing.
