Not exactly with a radius arm. It is technically a 3 link, but not as effective as a properly built 3 link, which is not radius armed.

Hey All, my first Jeep owned for 1 week now. '92 XJ w/ AW4 Trans. After new shoes on it I took the steep twisty gravel road home. Coming down in "3", and Full 4 Hi, I let it run a little on the last straight stretch. (Gravity, no throttle.) It downshifted!
I honestly can't remember when I tapped the brakes in that sequence.
Question is, is this an AW4 feature, and/or is it related to the Lock-Up TC? (Confirmed I have it with Chrysler Build Report.)
Thanks, and I have learned a ton of stuff here this last week already. (Mostly that you can always stand one more upgrade...)

I was definitely not decelerating. I was picking up speed on no throttle under engine compression. I think I'll have to try that bit of road again and pay more attention to everything. thanks.
I get why Jeep folks are passionate, this XJ is a blast!
