Just picked up an led light bar off a trade. Seems like a generic ebay 50 inch. It was new in the box with the wrapping still on. I only see power and ground wires coming out of it with no instructions. Anyone have a write up on how to wire this thing to a switch panel mounted in the center console where the ash tray used to be. Looking for ideas on how to bring it into the cabin without drilling through the roof. Anyone have recommendations to picking up a wiring harness to make installing a little easier?

 

It's a voltage gauge, not an amp gauge.

Pretty normal as the AC draws alot of current.

First thing to do is make sure your battery is full of water and your battery cables are clean and secure at both ends.

Got a handheld meter?

Been battling a nasty starting problem here lately with my '96 cherokee
It takes a lot of cranking to get it to start, and once you let it run, it will start right back up first crank once its at running temp. I replaced the CPS and did a full tune up, tested the coil and everything seems fine...
The only thing I can think of is that the new CPS I bought didn't come with the spacers that supposedly put it at the optimum distance from the flywheel, would that cause this?

 

Bad ground?

I'd never heard of them either, until I did a little digging around, some people have said they have cardboard spaces in their CPS pack and others have used washers to keep the sensor at a certain distance away...

There's a thread on another forum that mentions it, apparently the haynes manual says 93-04 4.0 requires a paper spacer or "damage to the sensor will occur at start up"

 

I don't know about that new-fangled stuff. On the rEnix Jeeps, we drill the mounting holes to get a stronger signal..

 

I don't know much about the newer generation either... my other 3 cherokees were renix.
The OP on the other forum measured his spacers and they were .038" So I might go grab some washers and see what will come of it...

 

Try turning the key to the on position and waiting for a second or two. Do that 3 times. Then try starting it. I think its a fuel delivery problem.

 

Yes if it is this, it will be your fuel checker valve. You can do the poor mans prime to start your jeep all day and is a common problem. I bought my jeep like this and this is the ritual I have to do to start her up, but after my last run I started to leak fuel when she was full tank. Possibly one of my seals are bad and leaking so the tank will have to come down and the fuel pump will need replacing....now I really got to get off my lazy ***

 

Replacing the sending unit isnt tough, just wait till your tank is damn near empty to do it so it doesnt way 100 lbs

 

Ok. All of a sudden my xj starts sputtering and I can smell gas. I'm no t losing fuel on the gauges and it's at half a tank. Fuel filter? Fuel pump? Injectors? Any thoughts?
