You've checked the main coil going to the distributor. I know that was a big issue with my moms 2.5 94. I know cruiser has sonera good insight for those dinosaurs. If his renix xj tips work well for the 2.5 YJs as well

How do I check the main coil? This is new territory to me.

Alright guys I just change the oil on my xj I use 15w40 which is what I use on the Comanche which Runs fine and the motor loves but when I put it in the xj the oil pressure gauge went all the way to the right pass the 80 and the gauge was perfectly working a hour ago when I drove the jeep. I Change spark plugs and wire also. The question is what's. Going on with the gauge is the oil too thick? The Manche has a lot more miles and the gauges don't work. I'm afraid I'm going to Mess something Up.

It ain't the oil's fault. You whacked the oil sender while removing the filter and messed it up.

Pull it and check. sometimes, especially with a standard trans, metal fragments will stick to it and distort the readings.

Well, only place I found was $240 for the entire replacement carpet.

Do you think its possible to remove the carpet and wash it on very delicate cycle in a washer machine or should I just remove and soak in a tub and scrub it?
