headlights work fine last time I changed the head light switch one of the prongs was loose and you know what that leads to. So I had to change the plug and I'm thinking maybe I got a bad joint on one of the wires or maybe the new switch is faulty

I thought it might have been the track bar again so I did that. It looks good and tight with no play and if it was the track bar it should pop if I turn it while the jeep isn't moving. The clunk only occurs if I am moving. That probably why I can't figure it out since I cant hold on and look while the rig is in motion. Haha.

You're in DC theory class, now you get to use it. Get your meter and probe around tomorrow and pull the switch out.

Ive got a 1993 cherokee that had a HO 4.0, i put in a 1989 4.0 temporarily until i get the original one out of the shop. everything from the 93 motor lined right up to the 89 motor. its all reassembled and i have bought quite a few new parts for it.

cps
plugs
wires
whole distributor (cap,rotor,and cam sensor)
coil
fuel filter

in the 2 months that ive had it completed, i have gotten it to run once for about a minute. and after running it even idled for a few seconds before dying. since then i havent gotten it to run at all. it cranks and cranks but nothing. it will sputter every couple of revolutions but still nothing. the distributor is set correctly, the fuel pump primes and the injectors squirt when the key is turned on. the pump also kicks on when trying to start. im tired of screwing with it, i want it to run. ive done everything i can think of, still nothing.

Maybe the cam sensor ? But, it sounds like your not getting enough fuel, maybe clogged fuel injectors, or fuel line . Have you tried starting it off just starting fluid, and see if it keeps running while spraying?

Yup, the H.O. flexplate is slightly different in the reluctor holes. Not by much but enough to tweak the timing.

I start the jeep in the morning (I guess whenever it's cole), it seems to start, so I stop turning the key, but within a second, it dies. Then it cranks for at least 10 seconds before starting, and doesn't happen again for a couple of days.

Any ideas?
