Thanks, the 33s are in the mail.

Quick question on unibody repair, my friends 96' zj has a little bit of rot where the crossmember bolts to the unibody on the passenger side. It seems like there is a crack in the metal going between the 2 crossmember bolt holes. Is his best bet something like a TnT Frame Stiffener?

1988 XJ 4x4

When giving it slight gas to cruise 10mph or less the rpms stumble like it wants to die. Any other rpm and any other speed it runs fine.

Any ideas where to look first?

Plugs cap rotor and wires were all done within last 5-600 miles.

98 xj, 4.0, ax15, wont start. checked all fuses and relays. have power to relay under hood, can jump relay and start jeep with key in "on" position. all other functions seem normal when trying to start like the accessories powering off etc... as if the ign switch no longer tells the starter relay to turn on.

It's okay, but a bit smallish.

Yes, weld up the crack and get some steel over it. Frame stiffener is a good one, I didn't know anybody made them for ZJs

Done the ground refreshing and sensor ground work in Cruiser54's writeups?

There are a lot of components in the starting chain. I can't get to my manual right now so this is just from memory:

- Ignition switch (fused)
- Clutch interlock switch
- Relay in Junction Block (fused)
- Relay in PDC (fused)
- Starter solenoid

I'm assuming you're jumping right at the starter solenoid? Or at the relay in the PDC?

Clutch interlock switch is a common failure, crap can get jammed in it (like floormats) and prevent it from closing the circuit.

That's what I thought. Everything's connected down there though. I'm thinking the POs mechanic replaced a cable and just left the old one in there.

Default 2007 Grand Cherokee Check engine codes

I just bought this 2007 Grand Cherokee and less than 40 miles later the check engine light came on. The codes are U1403 and U1411. First what do they mean? Second is it safe to drive, I have planed a trip for this weekend.

Thank you,

Ray

Ray, here are two links to check out.
http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=33400
and
http://www.fixya.com/cars/t14510040-...009_jeep_grand

Both of your codes are fuel system related, the 1403 shows that there is a communication error.
Was the Jeep purchased from a dealer or an individual?

Check cam timing? Why? Think it skipped or something?

I plan to remove my TC this weekend and replace it next weekend. Because my hours working on it are limited because of where it is stored.

Is leaving the TC out like that okay for a week?
