aluminum wheels can be repaired depending on the extent of the damage... but it's not worth the cost... when I had my AR Bajas, one of them was visibly bent on the rim on both sides... so I looked into having it repaired. Sight unseen the guy estimated 250 bucks or more... of course, I decided against it because the wheel is 110 bucks brand new.

Okay Salad, you've kinda lost me now... MIL? There are 2 lights, the "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" and the "MAINTENANCE REQUIRED" light. The CEL came one during the whole crack no start issue on tuesday an stayd on even when driving... the other light apparently has been on since I've owned it and I finally discovered it when replacing the guage cluster.... like I said, I'm not familiar with MIL - Maintenance Interval Light? Is that what that is? Doesn't sound right.
Is yours the funky old style with an emissions module that's supposed to be replaced every 60-80k?

I run alloy wheels, but I got 4 of them for 120 dollars... once I blow one I'll go back to steelies. The reason I like the alloys is honestly just for looks. I don't see any XJs running around with brushed aluminum rims. I'll probably get the stainless appearance steel wheels when I get them.
My 98 Chreokee Sport 4.0/5 spd will not start at times. It does not click or turn over unless I jump it, lights and all seem bright. Is has new battery and runs fine after jumping it. Gauge shows it is charging normally. Any suggestions?

I like them and wanted to get them a year ago, but settled for D windows.

Okay we'll pretend this is OEM Tech.
I'm lifting my XJ, I have new axles going in both ends, steering, springs, and LCAs. I didn't get good search results the first time so here goes: What's the rough order of assembly to make things easy? What should I do outside the Jeep and what should be done with stuff in place? I'm thinking assemble everything loosely, then tighten up a bit when its on the Jeep, then final torque with the vehicle's weight on it. I guess I'm really curious about the rear suspension ad the control arms.

here is my first question. Tonight I was freshing up some things on the exterior of the jeep with bed liner material. I took the roof rack off and was going to spray it, but I noticed now it seems one of the buttons is just flopping around and when pushed is not lifting the pin. how do you get into the innerds of these things?! there looks to be a plate on the rear that in theory pops out...but I have no clue. feels like the spring is missing or something. button is still in there, just no tension on it. Also this is a 2001 xj roof rack, factory I am assuming.
