aluminum wheels can be repaired depending on the extent of the damage... but it's not worth the cost... when I had my AR Bajas, one of them was visibly bent on the rim on both sides... so I looked into having it repaired. Sight unseen the guy estimated 250 bucks or more... of course, I decided against it because the wheel is 110 bucks brand new.

Perhaps I've misunderstood then. (My XJs are newer.) I Maintenance Indicator Lamp is used interchangeably with Check Engine Light.

Is yours the funky old style with an emissions module that's supposed to be replaced every 60-80k?

One sharp jab with a rock with the right point on it can fubar alum. Only real alum wheel for off road is a "method" brand wheel. Waaaaaay thicker

Guess I'll keep looking for something similar in steel.

Thanks.

I run alloy wheels, but I got 4 of them for 120 dollars... once I blow one I'll go back to steelies. The reason I like the alloys is honestly just for looks. I don't see any XJs running around with brushed aluminum rims. I'll probably get the stainless appearance steel wheels when I get them.

Default 98 Cherokee Will Not Start

My 98 Chreokee Sport 4.0/5 spd will not start at times. It does not click or turn over unless I jump it, lights and all seem bright. Is has new battery and runs fine after jumping it. Gauge shows it is charging normally. Any suggestions?

I like them and wanted to get them a year ago, but settled for D windows.

I like those. It'd be cool if they made them in the gray stock wheel color.

I got no problem with aluminum wheels. There's about a 98% chance they wouldn't get hurt on the Jeep I'd put em on anyway.

Okay we'll pretend this is OEM Tech.

I'm lifting my XJ, I have new axles going in both ends, steering, springs, and LCAs. I didn't get good search results the first time so here goes: What's the rough order of assembly to make things easy? What should I do outside the Jeep and what should be done with stuff in place? I'm thinking assemble everything loosely, then tighten up a bit when its on the Jeep, then final torque with the vehicle's weight on it. I guess I'm really curious about the rear suspension ad the control arms.

The rear end do the leaf springs first and then put the axle on a jack and line it up. Ds after that. The front im not sure. Ive done CAs on the ground. Maybe hoise and do uppers first.

here is my first question. Tonight I was freshing up some things on the exterior of the jeep with bed liner material. I took the roof rack off and was going to spray it, but I noticed now it seems one of the buttons is just flopping around and when pushed is not lifting the pin. how do you get into the innerds of these things?! there looks to be a plate on the rear that in theory pops out...but I have no clue. feels like the spring is missing or something. button is still in there, just no tension on it. Also this is a 2001 xj roof rack, factory I am assuming.
