X2.
I had this problem when I did my front bumper, I took off the ball and stuck a bolt in the end of the hose. Works great. Lol

Default Trailer Wiring

I have a 1999 xj that originally had a 7 blade connector plug for the trailer lights. The plug was very corroded and broken so I just cut it off. The wires sticking our of my jeep are all still good and I was wondering what each of them does and how I would be able to put a 4 pole connector on them seeing how that's the connector on my trailer. The colors are: Yellow, green, black, blue, black w/blue stripe, brown, and red w/green stripe. I have looked everywhere and can't find anything on this configuration of wires. I tried starting the jeep and having my brother step on the brakes and operate the blinkers while I used an electrical tester on them to see what they did but had no luck. Can you guys help me out?

Be sure your using a DC or AC/DC Voltage tester. Most common ones are ac only.v

On a jeep you have to use a converter box for trailer lights. Look around under your jeep or behind the taillights. If you find it, you can just wire straight from there for a 4 pin plug.

Normally it is a small 2x3 box with wires in and out.

Thank you, should have done that. Can't decide whether to do driver or passenger side. I know passenger is better, but I'd rather it go to drivers so in don't have it hanging over my engine bay.

If you're not using the stock air box then you might as well go straight from the engine to the passenger side firewall.

Ooo. So 86 the box. Keep the stock flex elbow and use a small cone filter. Easy as pie. I would do it with you if I wasnt so far away
