I have a 91 XJ with a 4.0
Will a 4.0 from a 91 wrangler fit my truck?
If there are questions to ask seller of wrangle engine about model donor came out of what are they?
Thanks

Wobble is like a beveled end that allows a few degrees of rotation like maybe 15 or so and u-joints can rotate almost 90 but cant handle a lot of force on them if they are bent like that... I would get some beveled extensions from Harbor freight like i have and then have regular sockets

Would make sense, maybe a few modifications. Why not just get one from another XJ?
just trying to determine what all would need to be done for seemless swap.

Also the U-joint ones are a pain to keep on if you need to push to keep the head from stripping and can be floppy. They each have their own uses.

If I am switching out control arms, do I need a spring compressor? By dropping one side of axle at a time will that give enough for the spring to just pop out?

How long arm your new arms compared to stock? I did mine at the same time so the axle slid back and i had to do some boo witchery to get them to line up... Take one side off, put new arm in, otherside. Park somewhere where you can use a ratchet strap and pull the axle forward if need be

Good to know. I've got plenty of time, as I'm not depending on this vehicle for anything but something to work on for fun. But I totally get you on the working out analogy lol. So I'll plan it in steps, checking as I go. I just wanted to make sure that there was a chance the problem(s) weren't most likely ones involving a total tear down from the start. Looking forward to the job and advice from the forums!
