I bet... I think I asked before what the cist of those were... IIRC, expensive. Lol

Are poly bushings okay for the sway bar?

I think I read poly bushings squeak, and I don't want anymore noise.

Poly lasts longer but makes more noise and transfers more vibration. Rubber is more comfortable but wears faster.

Thats why I went with LEDS. Less watts and brighter.

Makes sense. How much noise could a sway bar actually make?

That's why I want less noise! Its my DD and I drive A LOT less noise is better.

I don't know how bad a sway bar would be. Lol. Another thing is I haven't even seen rubber bushings for ANY of the sway bar parts. Only poly. Guess I'm getting poly.

Default Can someone give their input - Please!

Yesterday I noticed a small leak around the Heater Valve. I didnt have the time to replace it myself, so we took the vehicle in to a mechanic. He replaced the heater valve and now my jeep runs absolutely aweful. Its backfiring, and hardly running. Prior to bringing it to the mechanic it ran fine. Any ideas as to why this has happened??? I couldnt drive the vehicle home, as it barely runs now, so we left it at the mechanics shop, and he said he would see what the problem may be and let me know today. Well, he just called and stated that the map sensor was clogged with carbon debris and he cleaned it out, and now the jeep runs good again...Does any of this make sense??? I am suppose to pick the jeep up at 5 tonight, so any input would be helpful.

you got burned. I never let my jeep see the inside of any shop besides the college one. and thats only becuz i trust the professor there. Iknow he wont try to burn me or let my jeep get "unnessacery repairs" done to it. he also inspects EVERYTHING the students have done and if something isnt right he shows them how to fix it and makes them fix it the right way.

your mechainc burned you. atleast he fixed it again for you. but i dont see why any vehicle should leave the shop the first time around running WORSE then when it entered...

The whole reason i NEVER let anyone else touch my Jeep. Last mechanic i took it to didn't install the new clutch right so it slips. He refused to correct it, so i told him to go **** himself and i'm probably gonna take him to small claims court to cover the cost of a new clutch.

Exactly. Burn that **** in court.
I agree. i rarely take my jeep to the college shop. most of the time i either do everything my self. or if im undsure about somethin i hop on here to ask about it. and then i call jeep owning friend over to help. like tomorow im doin my piston rings. i got my brother (who i just managed to convince to buy a 1986 XJ) ridin over to help me with my jeep. hes a mechanic same as me so we should have this done in no time. i have a fully equipped shop in my garage.

The only place you can get interior fuse panels are JYs/eBay/partouts right? Can't imagine the dealer has them

The dealer might, but your probably gonna pay a pretty penny for one.. I'd go to they JY if it was me. That way you'll already have fuses

lol man you areprobly gonna have one hell of a wiring frustration. all those electrical circuits to figure out. i never replaced a fuse box. but i imagine it to be quite simple yet incredibly frustratin at the same time. just do us all a favor and dont use electrical tape please. lol

but yeah uhmm i dont think the dealer would have it cuz dealers only carry parts for about ten years past the last year the vehicle was made. Try CL. hell look for crapped out vehicles(i am assumin its ur XJ that needs it) stop and ask the owner if they mind u pullin some parts. u might get lucky. ifi had a crapped out car sittin in front i would not mind if someone asked me if they could pull a good part off it.

Default High idol

I was having issues with sparatic idol. Upon start up would rev high & drop to near stall and just "gallop" until it warmed and then even out. The other morning it was freezing cold, vehicle was covered in ice and it wouldn't start. It wanted to but it was like something was holding it back....ok, long story short got someone to get it started for me and was advised to replace tps. Well I replaced the sensor yesterday and it made a world of difference the engine runs much smoother and the "gallop" sound is gone, only concern I have is that the resting idol is much higher than it was. Is there a reset or something that needs to be done after having this part replaced? I got the part from napa (echlin line).

Thanks, Jenn

Yeah it's more precautionary at the moment. I had probably have that panel covered in muddy water a couple months back and I'm just waiting for it to short out and catch fire.. Also being that my rear defroster doesn't work when the switch is good (light doesn't come on though), fuse is good as well as the relay..
