Thanks or pic. When you put the LEd ones in, you might have to crimp those metal contacts onto the round metal leads of the LED bulbs.

Hmm scratch that, the two bulbs are te same size. Hmmm I know it's been done before jut not sure about this one

I bet the idea is to remove the metal caps from the old bulb and stick them on the LED.

maybe so.. To be honest that looks more like a bulb for 84-96 cherokees. Maybe they aren't taking into account the year of your xj?

Hmmm... Well after spending the night looking around all I can find is that the Map/Cargo lights are all the closed loop lights.

BUT!!!!

I clicked on the SYLVANIA replacement guide and checked what the 1999 GRAND Cherokee lights looked like. Since the over head consoles are so close I thought maybe they would use the same lights. Guess what? I am thinking the lights in my console and cargo area are from a Grand Cherokee and not a Cherokee.

Do you think there would be any problems with trying the GC lights in my XJ? I found the ones on the Superbright site that are the same voltage range and the same lenght. They are just not as bright and have a 30* and not the 120* that I was hoping for.

I just put this one in last week. Jeep is quite once again when the AC is on. We us it year round here. No screaming aux fan. I guess it cost about the same as the rock auto because no shipping or tax.

I say go for it. Like you said brightness will be less and the angle too.

I have a 98 xj and my lights up there are the same. Make sure you can't put the LEDs up there somehow too. Like others said crimp the connectors if you can

I take it this is for me. I wound up get the same style from rock auto. I went out and looked at mine and matches it. I was just curious cause rock auto said this model wasn't for jeeps with clutch style cooling. I've noticed my fan got so bad it pulls more power due to the added resistance

Yes it was. Mine was doing the same thing. I guess the motor bearing go bad and cause more resistance and noise.

You need to clean in AC filter. Or replace it.

So I'm putting on aux. Reverse lights so I can see at night when loading. My question is how do I wire them to come on with regular reverse lights and on as well with a switch
