XJ Ask the Question Thread-forumrunner_20130611_084703.jpg

Anyone know what these holes are on the tranny in 98 xj 5 speed? Shouldn't there be some rubber plugs or something?

Renix MJ:
Turn signals and radio are functioning intermittently. Fuses are good.

Where should I look?

Do they stop working at the same time? How's about the ground for all the dash stuff? Is it good?

Head unit sometimes powers on on battery. Also sometimes powers on when I start the truck. If radio does come on, it dies when I flip the multifunction switch. From then on, neither will work. May start working again if I turn off the truck and start it all over again.

Sounds like I'd start looking at the wiring in the column to begin with.

Perhaps the ignition switch is slightly out of adjustment. It'll do some funny stuff.

Wouldn't surprise me. Can't usually get it to turn back for battery.

I need to buy a steering wheel puller...

It's a major pita, but you can get to the electronics without removing the wheel. Just gotta take the shroud off.
