Didn't think of grease. I tightened down still noisy. I also thought about little felt contact pad circle things.
Always rust lol. Actually, my XJ's front DSes don't have boots, I'm not that bothered though because they're actually greasable with zerk fittings. This ZJ one has no such fitting, so if crap gets in there I'll have to remove the whole damn thing.
No I mean the one that the body brake hose drops into. It's screwed onto the axle tube and feeds hard lines
How are the plastic trim pieces on the doors of the 97+ XJs held on? I'm guessing they are glued on based off of what I can see and the build threads that talk about taking them off completely for the look. Can't take mine off completely at this point as they help hide the rust at the bottom of the door, so Im trying to paint them black again instead and would prefer to take them off the car to paint them.

On my 91, there's a hose not connected to the air intake box. The box is from a 99. its not the one off the valve cover. I followed it and I think it goes to the evap canister? Or something. What exactly is that? Do I need it? Can I tear it all out?

Yes that's what it is. It's run to the intake manifold in later years. You do require it. Not sure if a vacuum tee would be appropriate, mayhaps someone can chime in before you go wondering off to parts store land
I may order orf rear quarter panel armor for the xj. Would anyone suggest any rtv/silicone to seal the edges? Any possibility of it trapping moisture (the armor itself or the silicone around the edges)?

What is a Gand Cherokee "Drive_Unit" I have been searching for a CV/CV front drive shaft for a 2000GC, 4.7L, NV247. Some ads say "will not fit Drive_Unit" others say will. Have no Idea what a drive unit is.

Yea I did some googling. It's somewhat necessary. It's the charcoal canister it's supposed to eat up the gas fumes or something. I'll either make the 99 airbox work or get a different one.
