Yes. A pully adding resistance to the accessory drive could result in a slight mpg drop. (Think mech. fan delete here guys, less resistance = slightly better mpg) Now with that said. I highly doubt your 10mpg is caused by this resistance. Besides if it was that bad you would have thrown the belt off over and over.
Time to look elsewhere.

I have a 96 zj. remote quit working. can I replace my remote and receiver with a matching keyless remote and receiver from a junkyard without causing (another) vtss issue? after swapping a bcm, I had to have my pcm flashed to clear the death code. I'm afraid I'm gonna cause another vtss issue.
for all who need to know, in the event of theft mode lockout pcm replacement is NOT necessary. a mobile mechanic sucessfully erased the death code and i'm driving it daily.

Not to mention flat vs. Mountians. Elevation.... quite a bit can effect mileage.

"Bcm stores the VIN and SKIM. Would be a mismatch with the ECM. Cheaper to get new remote from a good key place. If local, Bill's Lock & Safe can do it".

Is it possible for my accelerator cable to be loose? Causing me to have throttle response problems. I can go up to the bracket up by the motor and push the cable straight down. How can I fix this? Also could me having to put soo much pressure on the pedal to go anywhere, can it cause bad mpg? I ask that question too much.. I really need to figure it out.. The pedal feels hard to press down when I get to 55 I can barely do the speed limit (65) without hammering down.

Worth a try, probably...
