On my new to me 98 one of the worst things personally is the blinker doesnt turn off after i turn. My 96 never had this issue. Is there something that usually causes this?

Mine doesn't do it when I turn left. You get used to it after a week. Fwiw to fix it, it's not worth it unless you're already in the steering column

How can I get the yoke off of the front shaft output? Nut is removed.

Might not be able to see it... Do the flat grooves inside the outer most ring face inward like now or face outward. They are offset inside the ring. Doubt anyone knows lol

the yoke is a slide on/press fit. may have to try a puller to pull it off or gently hit it with a hammer to try and get it slide off. as far as what postion that is in, i am not exactly sure off the top of my head. that round part is a magnet that sits just below the pick up screen for the oil pump.

If you don't have already new center pins then maybe. If you already have new ubilts you shouldn't have a problem

Yes, found my old jeep book. Almost forgot center pin goes through shim. My question is where can I get longer center pins...

Ok now I know my mind is slipping lol. What is a good length for a new centering pin when I shim. I know 5/16" but is 50mm longer enough then cut it.

I went to the hardware store and bought grade 8 allen head bolts. You can get any length and they arent threaded from top to bottom which is good. Measure the leaf pack thickness and factor in the shim thickness, then pick up some allen head bolts (rounded head bolt) that are around an inch longer than the thickness of the pack. You can always trim the bolt if needed. This is just my suggestion, this has worked for me and my buddies jeep I helped lift.

Yank on it - mine actually came off without any persuasion once I removed the nut. You might need a puller though.

Not sure what you mean - are you asking about the orientation of the mode sleeve? If "yes", then the flat spot about 1/3 of the way long the length of the thing is supposed to be closer to the front. In this pic the side facing the camera goes towards the rear:

Looks like you're in neutral. The shift lever position all the way down is 4L, all the way up is 2H. For 4L you want the mode and range forks pushed backwards.

That's intentional. The magnet hides under the pickup screen to keep the screen cleaner, longer, and keep crap out of the oil pump. A bit of filings is normal. Transmission and engine oil drain plugs are usually magnetized for the same reason

I just installed a vacuum guage in my xj. What's the general reading for an xj at idle? Mine sat around 20 hg at idle for the couple mins I ran it. While doing this I noticed some of my fittings could use alittle love.. So that's why I'm wondering what the reading should be.
