I have a similar problem and I am about to change the oil and oil pump and clean out my oil pan. The theory is that there is sludge that gets sucked into the pump and after running it for more than 30 minutes straight it starts losing oil pressure at idle. Just an idea and something I'm trying to fix what sounds like the same problem.

 

So i still havent managed to remove my broken coolant temp sensor from the head. I was refered to a mechanic by a friend thats a machinist, the guy said he'd most likely have to remove the head and drill it out and install a brass fitting for the sensor to sit in. Sooo thats most likely gonna cost alot because i dont have the time or knowledge to remove the head myself. So then my question is, part of the threads stick above the hole, is it worth a try to use a flat head screwdriver and hammer at it to try and bend tbe outside to the inside and basically peel it from the threads? I really want to avoid having to take it and spend my lift money on stupid repairs..... any ideas or suggestions? (Heat wont work either, too close to stuff and no room)

 

No need to remove the head. Use an ez-out.

 

I tried. It just kept turning and turning. The thing never loosened. And i really didnt want to break it off in the hole and cause more problems.

Should i just try it again and keep going? I know we put a hole in it somehow with the easy out so now coolant leaks thru.

 

Tap it in a bit further and take your time turning it out.

 

This might be where im confused. The guy at autozone said to just insert it and begin wrenchng it in. When u say "tap" do u literally mean to tap on it and push it in farther? And i know the angle was slightly off when we got it in there a ways and i know that its supposed to be dead straight.

 

With an easy out you have to tap it in with a hammer to get the threads to bite. I killed one removing a hardened screw from my brake calipers, a brass fitting should be straightforward.

 

How to take the driver fender off 88 xj. Still has the splash gaurd and everything.

Mainly need to know how to free up the front.

 

Remove front clip.

Well i dunno but that looks like a dang good deal to me. Cant imagine theyd be that terrible. Atleast for me when i dont even have any fog lights.
