just go slow. dont lock your wheels up. thats when youll slide and loose control.

you can always do it the fun way...floor it and then rip the e brake to do a 180 turn.

Ok..looks like this is the place to ask those random Jeep questions, so here goes. My daughter bought her first car, a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer. We have been working on fixing it up, but have encountered a glitch. Her Jeep tends to idle very low and sometimes just die. Always starts right back up, but is very quirky. It has died while driving on the freeway, sitting at traffic lights, and pulling into parking spots at school. My husband has replaced the TPS and is thinking of replacing the idle air sensor...Any ideas out there? I do know it had a major oil leak (the rear main), which we have fixed.

might be an alternater issue. cleanout the IAC. clean all port injectors and check the clutch fan.
when removin the IAC. do it very carefully. its just two screws. but when u pull it out. be very careful to not move the plunger in or out. take a old toothbrush and some brakes parts cleaner(not sold anymore so u will have to find a nieghbor who has some) or carb cleaner and clean all the grime off. clean air filter. or replace it. check distributer wires for breaks or shorts. How many miles does the jeep have? and check vacuum lines. you made a wise choice by comin to CF.com. iknow yaho answers was NOT helpful s most of the mechaincs onthere arent XJ owners and dont know how AWESOME these jeeps are and would call it a lemon.

Who's gone doorless on a 97+? How did you do it? And what's your thoughts on it? (how it closes, rigidity, etc)

if u are in a two door. remember. ur doors are better left on as they are strucural support for the unibody. u can replace a door. u cant replace a warped unibody.
if four door. there are several writeups on here. probly atleast a sticky.

bu hey u can remove 2 dr doors too but be careful when rock crawlin. its more a matter of visibility and looks then anything

Default TJ D30s Low or High?

Are the TJ D30s low pinion or High pinion?
Got a couple for sale around here around $200 with 4.10 in them. Need one to match my complete 8.25 29 spline axle with Detroit True Traac 4.10 I picked up for $300.
I currently have the dredded 2000 XJ with the low pinion D30

I'm four door so we're good there. I'm not worried about doing it its more how it will be in the long run. Whether you used the cotter pins, quick pins, or welded in bolts. I want the door to close as close to stock as possible and unless the doors off people won't notice it

hit up the junkyard. theres ALWAYS one or two xjs around and some WKs and WJs.WJs are more likely to have them. same with CJs and JKs.

when u find them. get a good length on either end of the plug. to make splicing easier and u have more flexibilty for mistakes.
u can buy Quick discos at parts stores too. they ussually have a couple racks with all sorta of neat plugs to pplay with

Don't the GC plugs require fabrication though? I'd just get the quick disconnects at the parts store. I'm planing on doing my front doors soon, and i have power everything as well.

Yeah I'm probably just doing the front for now, maybe the rears later. What kind of disconnects are you going to go with? Aren't there like 20 some wires in each door?
