Im gonna try and go to a machine shop and see what they say or can do to help.

What happens if it breaks apart? Can it fall down into the engine? Im not sure whats on the other side of the hole.
Did you try my suggestion with the hammer and chisel?

Yes the brass just gave way and was getting smashed and bent up. It wouldnt turn at all.

And about the channel locks, i did not know that was the name of those lol. Problem is that area is really tight. I can barely get needle nose pliers to it.

Pull the head, fix it and reinstall the head. Done.

Have the head reworked while you're at it.

For the I6, is the number 1 cylinder the one closest to the radiator or closest to the firewall? I'm getting engine code P0205 which is injector 5. But I'm not sure if that one is the second one from the front or the back. I'm getting this code after installing new freeze plugs. I must have jacked something up in the re assembly

Cylinder 1 is at the radiator and 6 is at the firewall.

I'm having a no crank issue. I have replaced the starter and the starter switch. I have tried cranking in every shifter position. Could the NSS cause this, and if so can it be bypassed?

Yes. It can be bypassed.

I would do this as a temporary solution.

Then you need to do this as a permanent solution.

Also, you can turn the key to the ON position, have someone sit inside and hold the brake while you climb underneath and jump the starter solenoid with a screw driver but I wouldn't suggest doing this unless you're quite confident that you can do it without getting run over.

If it doesn't start that way then you have either battery, connection or starter issues.

Default It just quit...

About 75 miles after a major fix (#1 & #2 pistons trashed), tooling along the I-10, it (99XJ 4.0, AT, 4WD) just shut down. Came back on for a few seconds coasting to the shoulder, then shut down again and wouldn't restart. Checked all the fuses and connectors under the hood, ok. Seemed to have good fuel pressure @ rail test port. Towed back home, starts fine and runs around (local) ok. If it's the fuel pump, why would there be a good amount of fuel at the port after shutdown. It got really, [I]really[I] hot before I bought it, possibly the distributor pickup? Don't want a repeat halfway to Mexico!

Sounds like intermittent CPS failure. It's pretty common.

This seems like an informative thread. Try it.

Does anybody know what the wiring harness/bunch-of-wires that runs along the valve cover and connects to all of the injectors is called?
