Anyway, the resistance test is only a preliminary check. Many bad CPSes have passed that test. (like BNIB from AutoZone) On Renix I believe an AC volt measurement worked, on Chrysler electronics I *THINK* you need an oscilliscope.

And so you shouldn't. The CPS is used for spark timing and to fire it in the first place. If you have spark at all then you know your CPS is at least alive. Weak spark is going to be in the ignition system. Check the coil, plugs, wires, dist cap&rotor, and refresh all electrical connections. There are a few writeups on here about ground freshening and cleaning the battery posts & terminals. Get your battery load tested. A CPS will not cause a weak spark.

It happened to me on the freeway. Driving home no issues. Started loosing power.... Died... Pulled over. Jumped the starter and felt spark the hard way (finger in wire) felt like a 9volt on your tongue.
Had a new spare Cps in the glove box. Swapped it out. Bam back on the road. No other things touched.
And never had another issue.

Hi all, any one know of a good place to buy a fan shroud for a 90 4.0 dealership wants $66 and the U-pull wants $50. Cheapest I found online was from partsgeek for $17.33 shipped, but I have never purchased or even heard of this site. Rockauto doesn't have them. Any other suggestions or should I pull the trigger on the partsgeek?
