and naw man grade 5 is fine... and a nut is not going to care about the ever so sligh difference of the 9/16 and 14mm...



im doing the rear main in my 90 manche now... although i stripped the motor, tranny, xfercase, and all out... painting the engine bay... painting the motor and replacing everything seal related except for pulling the head...

if all you want to do is the rear main seal then i recommend replacing the oil pan gasket... but the oil pumps (on the renix anyway) are lik $80 frickin bucks... since this is all your doing i say replace it too... youll have to pretty much pull the motor to do it if it ever fail's in the future... me... im not... all my moneys already going everywhere else and i ran out... lol... if your motors stock then run a stock pump... its lasted this long right and still counting... why buy aftermarket... aftermarket are for motors creating more heat and near more oil flow...
Thanks man i'll just stick with a new stock oil pump then

gonna do some battery work. Where are the ground points on the battery? and how difficult is it to replace the battery cables... these are lookin cracked and chewed up... gonna get a new battery as well

Cables are easy man... Main grounds are of course the neg battery cable to block... Battery to fender... Back of head to firewall... Add one from same engine block point to passenger shock mount...

Recommend oreillys new batteries like optima but better and cheaper...

changed the fluid in the trans case today still no 4 low and front whells still not kicking in when rear spin, 4 low is just grinding still wont engage, linkage looks good to the eye,

This may have been answered before, but, I was wondering, are all Chryco 8.25 rear diffs, limited slip?

what is involved in replacing my 247 tc for a 242 seem to be able to find 242 at scrap yards up here no 247, will everything work still

If linkage is giod and u have grinding then sounds like its time for a xfercase...

Nope... Thetr will be a tag hanging off the diff cover telling u... Or jack up the rear end... Spin a tire... If the other tire spina the same direction its LS or locked aftermarket... If it spins the opposite way its open spooled...

I believe so... But youll need the linkage and handle as well... Lots of writeups for this if u google the swap...

Actually there are no plug wires either. The plug boots connect directly to the coil rail. All of this has been replaced, with the exception of the coil rail. Each coil pack controls 2 cylinders, so if a coil pack was bad, misfire would affect 2 cylinders. That isn't what I am seeing. I have done most of the basic things suggested on the forum, i.e. tune-up, TPS, CPS, etc, with no improvement. I was hoping someone would be able to share their experiences of a successfu diagnosis of a similar problem.

You have to quote what your talking about man... Cause I went back three pages and still have no idea who u were talking too.... Threads like this move to fast to just throw a comment in the middle and it actually make sense... Lol...

Also just because a coil is ran to two plugs and your only misfiring on one cylinder doesnt mean it still not a coil... Within the coil there has to be something that determines which if the two cylinders to fire to... I do believe they are all the same coils on the 99+ so a simple swap of two coils will tell if its a bad coil or not... if its bad the misfire will move to another cylinder... Also research a injector wiring causeing the misfire... Seems to be common and a common ground out on something but I cant recall...

Its hollow...vmy 89's lights were there and I had to bolt them on actually... So I had to get tools in there wich sucked but yeah your safe man... Called a cowl...

x2 - although mounting lights that close to the hood is going to put some wicked glare off the hood when you turn them on.
