Default fan won't turn off

i've got a '97 cherokee and the fan that comes on when you turn on the air conditioning will not turn off, not even when i shut off the engine. as it is now i have to disconnect the battery so it wont drain the battery. is this a situation where i just have to deal with it and take out the fuse or can this be fixed easily?

When you turn your defrost on the a/c is supposed to go on. You basically have the a/c on (blowing hot dry air on your windshield) to remove the moisture in the air. When the a/c is on, the electric fan is on.

The ones out of the 4.0L grand cherokee will be the same as your XJ. If you find a V8 grand cherokee, the coils from that will net 1-1.5" of lift over your current setup.

Regarding the fuseblock thing there was some kind of modem or processor under the dash- I'm guessing for a cell phone or a lo jack of some sort. I will check out the relays after work. I appreciate your input! Thanks!

Default Windows and locks not working

I tried to trace the wires from the back of the fuseblock and they seem to be going to that holder? BTW, there is nothing in the that holder. I also read some comments that the window lock sometimes fries, but I have tried two different driver side controls and neither of them make a difference, it still does the same thing. I'm going to try to post a pic on here. If it doesn't show up, its my main pic in my profile. My next step was looking into the solonoid, but if I have no power at the fuseblock, then I'm going to wait until I know more. Any ideas? Thanks guys!
Had the same problem and found out how to fix it here:

I just bypassed the whole thing as I don't worry about keeping kids from rolling down the windows or getting out of the car before they should.

Here is a better way of bypassing the window/lock lockout on the drivers door.

add a leaf
http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan..._Code=WHEELS10

the parts lists seem identical?

the more expensive kit included a brand new leaf pack with all new leafs, while the less expensive kit is just a single new leaf that you would add to what you currently have

thanks for the fast reply. i guess with 100k+ on it, it certainly wouldnt hurt to spend a few more bucks off the bat.

lifted jeep and a lowered lotus will make for some good photoshoots. if only the jeep were black....

yeah. i figured out it is because the freon is low. had it checked and there was only alittle in the system, so theres a leak somewhere and we are guessing the evaporater core becuase there is a water trickling noise coming from the vents.

I had a small problem when I tried to put a 91 column in my 90. The shaft that comes out of the end (that goes into the center shaft under the hood) was a half inch shorter on the 91 and things wouldn't go together far enough for the pinch bolt to go in. The shaft on my 90 was just over 3 inches long, the one on the 91 was only 2.5 inches (measured at their longest points). I ended up getting a column out of an 89 and it worked perfect. If you can, grab a column out of an 87-90.
