I think i blew a head gasket! After a day of wheeling i lifted my hood to mess with my electric fan and my overflow was spewing out. I checked my temp gauge and it was at normal temp, so i opened up the overflow jug and it was chocolate milk! I checked my oil and it had lots of little bubbles in it and it looked really thin. I checked for oil or anything on the side of the block but i couldn't see anything. What should i do?

 

no, idles smooth accelerates evenly roll on or pedal to the metal she doesnt skip a beat. i figured there would be other symptoms but it all seems to be fine i did just do a coolant flush thermostat upper and lower hoses but that shouldnt have anythig to do with it temp stays below 200

 

Maybe a problem with the distributor? I don't know. If you could post a video of it that would help.

Could just be a ticking lifter in the engine or cracked head sometimes the stuff is hard to pin point. Especially with no issues to diagnose.

Replacing my fuel tank today. I had been spraying the straps and bolts for a while now, but I know that they will just snap now that I'm tugging on them. I know I can buy new straps but what about the long bolts that it hangs from? Will that need to be picked up at a JY?

 

Wow that sucks. For one, stop driving it. You're going to be needing to take the engine apart and inspect things, I'm guessing yours is a 96 so hopefully just the head gasket shot

 

Yeah she is parked in the garage. I HOPE that its just the gasket. Would hate to have to buy a new head. When my parents bought it from the dealer they said they put a new head on it... My guess is they were just cheap and used the old gasket. But there is no way to tell until i tare it down... Any tips before i do this thing? I know I should label all of the wires and and stick the bolts in cardboard in the correct order. Should I buy new head bolts? That's another $50!

 

Hey Everyone, I am in the process of replacing my cat. I have the ubolts off and the muffler disconnected, but I can't seem to get the cat off the front pipe. I can spin it so I know it's not welded. I do not have a torch to heat it, nor do I own a sawzall to cut it off(which I would prefer not to do anyway). Ideas?

 

Saws all at Harbor freight are cheap! I personally have the one below. $39 cordless! Most shops around here will do it for $40

Got a hack saw or an angle grinder?

 

If it's the old cat... then why not just beat the **** out of it with a hammer? Guarantee you take a 3lb to it it'll come off...

 

X2 at the hack saw. Might take a little longer, but you can find one for supa cheap at a pawn shop or something. I got mine for 2 bucks
