Default fuel system/ filter/ pump?

hi guys i'm a newbie, i have a question about my 89 cherokee sport.... when i used to drive short distances and shut it off it wouldn't start right away, just turn over and over till i pushed the gas pedal then it would fire up.... that has been going on for some months... not all the time just occasionally.... the problem now is it won't start at all now.....

Cycle the key on off a couple of times to pressurize the fuel system. Buy an aftermarket check valve and place it on the fuel hose near the tank.

If it doesn't bog down when driving the FP is ok, but the internal check valve isn't tight and the fuel flows back to the tank.

I'll try using an air ratchet to get those 2 bolts.

ps For the 89 I tried to remove the brackets but the bolt heads are so rusted the socket stripped the heads.
I got the brackets off and installed the bumper no problem. Thanks for the help!

Hey folks, I posted a question here a while back, and now the Jeep is in the hands of some really good mechanics, the best Jeep guys I could possibly find. They have run aground as well, the thing won't run, it's not getting coil fire, nor are the injectors firing, the Jeep will crank up and run for a few minutes if it's been sitting awhile, and then dies, the relay proceeds to click like hell, and it won't crank back up again, this following a rebuilt engine being installed, all sensors are good, all wires are good, 3 modules of 3 different j/yard Jeeps later, no go. They traced all the wires, checked all the electrical. I'm at my wits end, I can't figure it out, this is my business vehicle, and my backup car is now requiring repairs also.

part of the problem could be that you put a High Output Motor in a Renix era Jeep. could also be a CPS issue. I'd check over all the sensors as a start and see if any are out of spec. Hopefully you got the wiring harness from the High Output motor along with its PCM

The block and valve assembly are the only components from the high output engine, the manifolds, flywheel, transmission, valve cover, mount brackets, and all belt driven components are from the original engine. The CPS is new, and when it does start it registers rpm, meaning that the CPS is working just fine, MAP sensor is new, coil is new, pickup in distributor is new, ICM tested good, all relays have been checked/replaced, ballast resistor is new.

As far as the computer knows it's the same engine, it's just running a hell of a lot better. (all 6 rod bearings were knocking before the swap, sounded like a diesel eating nails)

The switch or the relay is bad. You can take the relay out of the circuit and test it first.

Does the steering column have a built in stop that keeps the wheel from turning to one side an unlimited amount?

I am new to this site, I have been working on my jeep all day it wont start it cranks but its not firing. I replaced the ignition module, coil still no spark and had the module tested it tested fine. Checked the fuses, wiring everything seems to be intact no blown fuses. I checked the relays there fine. Fuel pump is new and its working. Even checked the module in the distributer and its working. Any suggestions would be helpfull.
