Thanks.

I read the write up on swapping seat bottoms, but I am not sure how to disassemble the seat backs.

Do you know if anyone has done a write up on how to change the seat backs and tilt handle?

EDIT: WOW these guys from Novak rock for the amount of information they give...
have a look:
http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...nput_gears.htm
according to their chart your TC has a 23 spline, long output, so you have to look for a post '94 cherokee with AX15 and 231, sorry no ZJ.
Wranglers maybe, i'm still looking, but if i remember correctly the bolt pattern is rotated a bit so that the TC hangs lower.

yeah i didnt even think about the long shaft compared to the wranglers. didnt know about them being clocked a little too. thanks got a hook up from a buddy for one. but both my output shafts(the one he gave me and mine) seem to have a little wobble or play in them as if they are bent a little. is there some sort of tollerence in the amount of play?

not if he is talking about the rear that one can be removed with no ill effects. my front and rear are both out. not saying it dont sway a little though in the turns.

Axial (back &forth), radial (up&down) or rotational play?

It's perfectly normal, once the oil gets pumped all over the play becomes less.

Thanks but that seems even tougher since there are 4x as many difficult bolts to get at and I would also have to remove the rear skid plate and tow hitch on my 88.
I'll try using an air ratchet to get those 2 bolts.

ps For the 89 I tried to remove the brackets but the bolt heads are so rusted the socket stripped the heads.

Before I started tracing wires back looking for a break, I cleaned the contacts using a rubber pencil eraser and then contact cleaner, and the speaker started working. By looking at the contacts you would have never thought corrosion was the problem.
im tearing it apart this weekend...should be REAL fun..ive seen pics of the cluster taken apart...is it hard to replace say one of the female connections?....also ive never 'traced' wires for shorts, this will be my first time, i do have a voltometer i bought....gimme a lil play by play if you would

No, and you dont have to trace the wires, you can buy a short locator for around $15

Does a 91 cherokee straight 6 HO have a timing belt or timing chain?

A timing chain. There are two dots on the sprockets that need to be alligned and that's it. Extremely easy. Different story is the distributor indexing.
