Its fuel injected, map vacuum goes low, tps says WOT, fuel pressure regulator goes max, pcm increases injector pulse width and ignition timing. Auto transmission should make a down shift and away your 4.0 takes you.

Big issue here now. Starter is new about 3 months I say. When I turn my key nothing. Starter makes a weird noise and when it does turn over which is pretty much never it doesn't sound like my jeep starting. More or a shallow start then anything. Just started today.

When I had that issue last winter, ended up being a NSS issue.. to which I took the lazy way, and bypassed it.
Try turning your key to the on position, make sure you're in park/neutral, and crossing the terminals on your starter, with a screwdriver. RUBBER HANDLE WOULD BE IMPORTANT! Or pliers, whatever.. just so it's insulated. Get a good connection between the large positive and ground connections. If it starts your jeep like normal, the issue is between the ignition switch and the NSS.
There is also a much more detailed write-up for troubleshooting this issue, if you search it on here.. this was just how I determined my issue.

And, if that ends up being your issue, I can always show you where I mounted my push button start!

Ya before all this, I would have to put it in neutral to start it on occassion. So I'm pretty sure its the nss.

were you missing head bolts or valve cover bolts? i got my valve cover bolts at home depot. dont know about the head. you shouldnt have to spray PB on your head bolts, they are just under A LOT of torque. i would be worried about them coming back out after the reinstall though.

I'm planning to get zj/wj replacement front seats. My question is, I have manual seats and wanted to know if the seat controls stay with the base? Do I have to look for manual seats to replace mine? Or it doesn't matter?
