Are all fan shrouds created equal? I need a new one and on rockauto.com, there isn't one listed for my '96 4.0L but there is one listed for the '99 4.0L. Are there any differences? I'm assuming the answer is no

From everything I've seen on this forum... and a bit of personal experience, before you put any more money into it, open up the hood, clean and ensure the viability of every ground you can find (see https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cr...7/#post2114702) then clean and seal with dielectric grease every connection you can find. Pain in the backside, but definitely worth it.
Just poured over 300$ into mine over a no start issue when all I really needed was to clean out the connection for the CPS.

Good luck, hopefully that helps.

Like he said, post count doesn't always equal knowledge. Just be yourself here. The site is pretty relaxed as long as you aren't giving people bad advice/wrong info.

Yay electrical problem time. My rear defroster hasn't been working so at work today I grabbed a power probe. Just to go through quick, fuse is good and relay is good, fuse panel is good, rear grid is good and I'd like to think the switch is good.
When I put the power probe on the fuse, in the fuse panel, on the driver side of the rear grid, or the socket for the relay and press the positive switch on the probe the light on the switch illuminates. Anytime I click the switch it doesn't illuminate though. This makes me think the switch is bad but then why is the light turning on? Any input would be great.
Also after I did this I went to drive home and neither of my blinkers worked. My high beams did though.
