So, I have my 89 Wagoneer, and it's not "done" yet. I ran out of money and it's now hitting 100 degrees, so I'm waiting till the fall to finish it up. The problem is, it runs and drives (mostly) and i'm afraid of somebody running off with it. I am planning on putting in a kill switch, but right now I just have the battery unhooked at the starter (figured most wouldn't figure that out very quickly). but what else can I do to secure it?
Had a guy stop by the house offering to buy it. I threw out a number that is a bit high because it's not for sale ($25k), but I really didn't like the way he looked, and felt like he was casing the joint a bit.

One thing you can do is unhook the neutral safety switch or pull the ASD relay and I can think of a few others if I think about it long enough

Pull the rotor from the distributor. Remove the battery. Take out the fuel pump relay. There's no way they'll get it with all 3 missing, unless they have a tow truck.

I rely on Dan Wesson in 10mm.
but more seriously, I love the idea of pulling the fuel pump relay, it’s a quick solution, and it would be hard to get a tow truck in without us knowing, but driving the Jeep out quick before we can react is an issue.

Pull the steering wheel off & keep it far away from the Jeep. This way, when they peer through the window (hopefully before breaking it), they will see an obvious obstacle to overcome. Maybe hide an Apple AirTag & Android equivalent somewhere in the Jeep. Spend 15 minutes hiding it, so it isn’t easily found.

Great suggestions here. Pull the fuel pump relay and the rotor off the distributor would be top of my list. Also, not a bad idea to put a cover on it. It seems that sometimes a covered vehicle is often overlooked.
The airtag or tracker is also not a bad idea as a backup. I'm not up on the technology, but there have to be plenty of options.
I had a similar situation with a guy who pulled up in front of my house and offered to buy mine. He was also scared away when I threw out a really high number. Most guys are just out trying to do a quick flip. They will tell you its only worth about 2 grand, then when they go to sell it, its worth 14 grand.

As another idea, you could also pull the front seat out (put bolts back in place, so you don’t lose them). Again, anyone looking to steal the Jeep would need to figure out how to drive it, without a front seat. Hopefully, as they peer inside before breaking the window they notice the missing drivers seat. It would really suck, to disable the ignition system or fuel system, only to find out the thieves damaged your door lock & broke your ignition cylinder. I guess the bright side is, they didn’t get the Jeep, due to a no start.…

You can hacksaw thru a steering wheel in a few seconds. Then you slip the Club threw the cut part of the wheel.
I saw a video on YouTube a few years back.
I remove the coil wire on the distributor & swap it with a plug wire.
