Did an electric fan come standard in a Cherokee in 2000 or was it an option?

Thanks,
Jon

Yes as far as I remember the e-fan is standard in all XJs. In 2000 the ECU programming changed so that it no longer comes on as soon as the aircon compressor is engaged - only comes on at a certain temp. (previous model years were compressor AND temp)

Grand Cherokee front seats should bolt to XJ mounts. The rears will require modification to work. They work differently, you remove the rear headrests. Then the seat bottoms tilt forward separately, then each seat back can be layed down, using their backs as the cargo area floor.

Borrowed this from the library today and I highly recommend it. I was looking through it and it has answers to more than half the answers asked in this thread. It has troubleshooting solutions and step by step instructions in how to do various things to your xj.

Haynes manuals are only ~$20 depending on the vehicle. Auto parts stores sell 'em.

I have, It's not an intake manifold whistle. I can hear that on the road even while this other whistle is happening. It's a very high pitch, perhaps almost a squeek.

Just to clarify, is it related to engine RPM or tire speed?

Tire/wheel speed. I have even experienced it while coasting down a hill with the engine off.
