I did some searching and reading, so I believe I know HOW to fix my issue, but for whatever reason, I'm unable to.

Tcase won't stay in 4LO, will light up and pop out when I put the trans in drive. Seems like the idea is to adjust the linkage, which should in theory be easy, but I can't get the tcase to shift into 4LO by hand...

My process was loosen 13mm on linkage, pull lever to 4LO in cab, then try (and failing) at pulling linkage by hand into 4LO (I need help, advice, tips, which directions to go, etc.... Maybe I'm missing something), tighten 13mm, and it should be good?.... I'm hoping to hit a trail tomorrow and some of the people going said they'd be willing to try and help, but I wanna get this done myself before the trail so I don't make other people wait on me or I find out something else is wrong and I drove to the head for no reason.

Anyone have suggestions, tips, pics, etc? I need some help please!

It happens specially if you don't 4lo often. Start in 2hi. Let your girl roll a lil and shift to 4hi then neutral. Then shift your tranny to neutral then shift your TC to 4lo and yank slightly hard the shift your tranny to drive. Could just be she is a lil rusty. Last year I went snow crawling and it took and couple of attempts to get into 4lo since I don't use it often in the city

iight, I'm Thinking your issue stil is that the notches aren't lining up right. Try letting her roll while you shift and trying to adjust. I've heard ppl saying they had to yank the devil outta get it to stay while adjusting

In addition, I noticed when mine kept popping out that if I held it in for a few seconds while moving, I could then let go and it would stay.
Also, I changed the trans fluid and it started to go in easier.

If I hold it it stays for a sec then pops out right away. The rolling technique, I'm guessing that doesn't require me to be under the vehicle, or is it 2 person job?

1st try holding it for 10 seconds or so. 2nd by rolling he means you should be moving very slowly while shifting.

That doesn't sound very safe. Be careful. Keep us updated. Good luck.

Hey everyone, im new to the forums and some what new to Jeeps (this is my 2nd)

I just bought a 96 Jeep Cherokee and I seem to have a fuel pump or fuel relay issue.
The jeep will start fine on cold start ups but once driven and shut off, it will not start again. If I turn the ignition off and back on, the fuel pump will prime and the motor will start. Any ideas on where to start looking would be great.

Thanks
Matt

How else would you adjust the linkage?... There's a bolt there to be loosened to adjust it...

Hey, Matt. Welcome to the forum! After you drive a while, and shut it off, it won't start-up again.. does she try to crank, but isn't getting fuel? Or, is it that you turn to start, and nothing happens at all?

Gonna settle a bet.

I've spent the better part of 1/2 hr searching, no results.

Is, the AX15 from a TJ, the same EXACT as one found in 94+ XJ? 4WD, Np231, everything down to the crossmember and tranny mount.

Crossmember and mount are a little different. But the transmission and transfer case should bolt right up. Gotta love standardized parts.
