Mount the vacuum ball in between the inner fender, battery and relay box. At least one pre existing hole in your fender should line up. You can drill another if you want. As far as the horns we found that if we switched the left with the right we could mouth them behind the support backer up and out of the way. The mounting hole and screw were still used, just on the rear side instead. Then we just zip tied the wires up and out of the away.

Is there an issue if they get wet? I'm gonna trim my liner to go flush with the bottom of my fender and header panel

Probably they are electric. However if you extend the wires you could practically move them anywhere. We just ran out of daylight.

I'm gonna look into it more tomorrow when I get home from work since my girl will still be at work and I'll get free time. Maybe I'll put them in the engine compartment or something I'll see

Hi, I have a quick question about the TPS. Ive got the Renix system on my 89', and have been told that the TPS on these are very easily failing. When having the 4.0 idling and revving the odd time, whether the TPS is plugged in or not I notice no difference at all in throttle response or engine behaviour. Does this mean my TPS has failed, or am I misunderstanding what a TPS actually does? Any help appreciated! Also, I spose going looking for something to be wrong can create bad spending habits, but even as a curiosity..

On my way home Thursday, the jeep died on me while I was doing 55 down the highway. Ended up getting a tow home from a buddy. I can't find the cause. It cranks over, its getting gas, and spark. (Spark is weak, but its there). Are there sensors that I should start checking or tests I can run? I don't want to just start throwing parts at it to try to make it run, And I'd rather not take it to someone. Can't really afford either option. Its a 92 xj 4.0 ax15. Thanks

In the last month the serpentine belt in my 98 Xj has come off 3 times. I've pretty much narrowed it down to only happening the first time I start it in the morning and only if it's raining out. 2 mechanics looked at it and say all pulleys are inline and belt is good and they have no answers. Belt was replaced only 6 months ago and motors a 4.0.

so it turns over but never starts on ya at all since she died? And all your electrics are work otherwise lights horns radio. Im thinking possibly the crankshaft position sensor and i beleieve if you search it through my sig link there are write ups about it. You can also check your engines main ground too as a cheap quickie

those mechanics are saying the pulleys are inline but do you hear any squealing on those damp days when yyou start your rig. Does the belt fly off or just slip. Did they check your idler pully so see if its tight. Does the belt ever squeal any other time. There might be one other thing but im not sure if a harmonic balancer would cause a belt to come loose. Please anyone correct me if im wrong

Belt doesnt seem to squeal until it comes off. First time I thought I ran over an animal until I noticed the lack of power steering. I get about 20 feet away before it happens.

It's worth checking, mine's a 99 harmonic balancer came apart causing the belt to jump. The dampness or the initial start-up may be causing it to slip
and jump.

ok go to a different mechanic and make sure you idler pully is tight and the bolt about the power steering pully isnt stripped. Theres def more sttess on wet startup days cause things seize up a lil from the dampness. The idler pully is in there good so i dont think you can easily reach down and feel if its good
