XJ Ask the Question Thread
Hi,
Just bought a 1990 2 door Cherokee, 5 speed with a bad engine. (noisy bearings, low compression, etc.) Planning on finding a serviceable used engine to run while I take my time and do a thorough rebuild on the original engine. I believe that the 1988 to 1990 engines are identical, but do I need to find a manual transmission engine, or can the manual flywheel just bolt on to the crankshaft on an automatic engine? The automatics are a lot easier to find...
Thanks!
Tom

Saving weight to get better mpg in the summer? Or tcase won't disengage, or front and rear axles geared differently. Couple possibilities. Highly doubt the last one, though. I'd bet on my first example.

Got a 98 cherokee... winter started in MN yesterday with a bit of snow. I used the 4 wheel drive for the first time since last winter (and the first time since new shocks) I noticed twice that when I was turning and moving I got a strange rattle/creaking noise coming from the front end. There also seems to be a little vibration. This problem is not present when I am in just 2wd. I haven't checked it out much since then due to work... anything you guys know I should check with this issue?

Sea foam. You dump
Half in the throttle body while it's running and then cut it off, let it sit for 15mins and put the intake back over it then start right?? And the other half just gets dumped straight onto the gas tank and sits there??
