posted a thread about this but it got no responses...i was wondering if any bumpers that are a bit prettier could be made to fit an xj without welding...a direct bolt in, or just a bit of drilling to make it bolt in.

my stock bumper is trashed, so i gotta get a new one, and i was just curious.

speaking of which, what is the stock bumper made out of?

Thin steel possibly. I was glad my stocker got banged up so I got a beefier one

Okay, I've been having problems with my 2000 XJ recently and I've done alot of work to it but I still have some unresolved issues and I hope somebody can help me with. XJ overheated, I replaced the radiator and it started running rough and threw multiple engine misfire codes. I had the XJ looked at by a buddy, we did the normal tune up (plugs, oil) and the problem persisted, so I replaced the coil pack, still not the solution. We removed the head, it was filthy and it turned out that I needed to have the head worked on. I got the Jeep back and it drove fine, no more multiple cylinder misfire codes and no more blinking CEL, but when the XJ got to operating temp (~200) the idle was rough. It drove good except whenever it was warm and at stop it would idle rough. It threw another code p0171 and I replaced the 02 sensor (upstream I think, on the exhaust manifold pre cat) It seemed to greatly reduce the rough idle for a couple of days then it started to idle rough again and it has since thrown the same p0171 code. I've also replaced all the fuel injectors water pump thermostat, right before it overheated (do i need to replace it again?) Any help will be much appreciated, thanks in advanced

Default Water Pump

Hi, I recently bought a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and i love it. The Water pump just went out, and im in the middle of replacing it as i type this. I have removed the 6 bolts to the block, but can't seem to get it to budge. I'm not the most car savie person, but from the looks of it, it should be able to pop right off now. can anyone help?

Welcome. A picture is worth a thousand words. Is your serpentine belt still on?
