my suspension was shot on my xj. inverted rear springs sloppy shocks bald tires. So i went with a rough country 3"lift with the lower control arms and the nitro shocks and though on a set of hankook dynopro ATMs (p265/ 70R16 and yes they do rub but just around where the stop is.not a problem) thing rides great now but I have 2 new problems.
1. I have a growling noise and vibration during acceleration and kind of a clunk or 3 when i let up on the gas. I have since swapped out the u joints on the ft prop and even pulled the front prop for a minute. so I put it on jack stands and ran it and the noise is coming from around the back of the Tcase(slip yolk supprise!) I am just wondering if a transfer case drop will help or if there is something I am missing. I mean its only 3" I thought it would be fine. but i dont want to wheel it if its growling and clunking!
2. since lifted my ft axel seems to be about 1 to 2 inches over to the drivers side. one wheel deffinatly sticks out more than another. Is this normal? will it cause problems? and can i fix it with a new adjustable track bar?

2. Yes a adjustable track bar will fix this. You can also drill a new hole if you want to use the factory track bar.

To change or not to change?
My tranny fluid is brown(not black, but brown) and it shifts fine and doesn't slip. Should I change the fluid/filter, or should I just leave well enough alone?
edit: I have about 122k on it.

I realize it's supposed to be red, but I was just concerned as I've been told if the fluid is in bad shape, it may cause more trouble than help. But if the consensus is to do a change, then I will.

Ok concerning tranny fluid there are different thoughts. I personally would'nt change the fluid when it is like this. I have heard of more people having problems after replacing the fluid than others, the new fluids detergent dissolves some particles that may clog some lines and cause malfunctioning.

Okay so here is my issue i have a 1998 jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 4L straight 6
My problem is my turn signals don't work at all but the hazards do..(go figure) my friend is a car junkie and has been helping me out...we went to the jeep dealer service center and it was a 100 dollars an hour to just figure out what was wrong then when they finally tell us whats going on it came out to 1000$
(i don't know about the rest of you but i don't have that kind of money to spend on a junk car)..so the service dept gave us a list of things that could be wrong ..and we were going to replace them ourselves. well we replace the turn signal switch (oem) the clock spring (oem) the flasher unit and the gauge cluster plugs (oem) and i still have this issue ...the only thing that worked was that it fixed my horn and cruise control...and we checked all the fuses everywhere and all are in good condition and replaced the bulbs in the gauge unit in the dash....me and my friend cant figure it out ..and we would like a push in the right direction without paying a arm and leg to replace everything at a dealer.....HELP ASAP

Hello everyone. I'm new to Cherokee Forum and only have minor knowledge of mechanics. I have a 99' cherokee with the 4.0 in it. Right now I have a 4" lift with chopped fenders with 32X11.5 tires. I want to put a locker in the rear as well as put steeper gears. Eventually I want to go higher with the lift and put 33X12.5 tires on. Any suggestions on the gears or the best locker?
