XJ Ask the Question Thread
I've developed a squeak/chirping sound under the hood of my 99 XJ over the last week. I don't think it's a belt because that's typically a squeeling. It gets faster with the rpms, but seems to go away once warmed up. Could it be a pulley? It sounds like it's coming from near the alternator. Battery is holding a charge and the guages seem fine. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I haz no reverse lights LOL
really, upon hooking the lights and stuff up, I dont have reverse lights, the brake lights / running lights, and turn signals all work. Any ideas?
Could it be something to do with the surround for the shifter? I dont recall unhooking anything at the shifter when I had the harness all peeled out and sitting ontop of the dash, but that was a year ago.
thoughts?
edit. the jeep starts fine, so Id assume its not the nuetral switch, as there is a bad one in my other jeep, and it wont start unless you beat the hell out of the shifter with the key turned.

YEAH thats what i was thinking but all i can find is 4:11 for the dana 35 rear end is it because they just use the 4:11 beacause its the same thing in general? and how hard is it to actually do yourself?
