Good luck finding one though...
I'm pretty sure if you found a 700R4 intended for a 2.8L V6 s10 it would work, but its purely speculation.

it has to be a 1984-1986 cherokee for that combination to exist. Same tranny was used behind the I-4 and the V6, the Chrysler TF904/A904 3-speed automatic. You can also find them in CJs from 1980-1986 only with the I4 engine.

Lol I'll try to help. First thing first. Always post year and model of your jeep cause all are different. First step. Check the fuse. If its good check connections at blower. Pass side under hood at the fire wall. Let us know info on your rig and if you have checked those 2 things.

Hey, I can't seem to put my finger on it. All of a sudden I'm getting a grinding noise from my steering when I turn it left. I have no tie rods, ball joints are good. It sounds like it's coming from the power steering itself, would this be a pump issue? seems like there is fluid coming out somewhere. It was dirty, I guess from wheelin it. So, I drained and filled back up, could the pump be clogged? Not really sure any advise or help would be appreciated.
Hi i have a 1990 jeep cherokee that the wiring harnesses are completely toast. i can not find any harness's for it anywhere. i want a new harness so i can stop having issues and not have to worry about chasing wires and looking for shorts anymore. any help is greatly appreciated

From a past experience on mine (it's a 89 too) my switch itself went bad. But it's common for the motor to go bad. You can either jump the wires to the battery to check the blower motor it's self. If the blower does not work on high it rules out the resistor. Do you think you would be able to jump the wires on the motor?

Ok, this is my first post, because I've never had any issues with my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic until recently. I recently had a car accident and had to put my Jeep on a salvage title (cuz I refused to part with it). It sat in my garage for about a month until last night we tried to jump it and it would not start. It never had a problem starting before. When we try to start it tries to turn over and when we give it gas while trying to start black smoke starts coming out of the tailpipe. It literally started up a month ago with no problems. It has half a tank of gas. I know that there is an issue with one of the oxygen sensors, but it really never affected the Jeep before. Any ideas? I don't want to spend a ton of money trying to fix it.
Hey guys, im new here and just got another xj. Bad news is i got sold a lemon. Originally it wasnt getting fuel so changed the pump, then crank sensor crapped out on me, then had to do the cap, rotor, plugs and wires. Now its still boggin on me as if the cat is clogged or the wires arent in the right place, had my buddy check both and i doubled checked and theyre in the right place. Any ideas? Oh and i got a bad death wobble when it goes over 45mph? Thanks!
