An axle from a '98, some zip ties and electrical tape, wrenches, sockets, tools, WD-40 or PB Blaster and a jack.

Does anyone know if there's a way to increase the center-weight and effort of the power steering rack on an '89 XJ? I absolutely hate how numb and light it is now.

Default no heat?

Quick question: I've got a 91 6cyl cherokee that has no heat. In southern Cali this wasn't too big a deal but right now I'm in New England with it closing out my mom's estate. The fan runs fine but doesn't put out any heat. I'm planning on tearing things apart this weekend and see if the thermostat is stuck but figured I'd ask if there's anything else I should check while I'm at it. Thanks for any help!

Flush the heater core. There is to smaller rubber hoses that connect to the water pump, take those off and flush the core. I used simple green cleaner but just about any kinda cleaner will work. Dump it in one of the hoses and let it sit for about 15 min. I used compressed air to blow it back out. I flushed it about 5 times in a row, my heater didn't work at all till I did this. Now I gotta keep it on low its so warm. Good luck bud.

hey , the gears in the rear end of my 96 cherokee are slowly giving out, and i was thinkin of re-gearing the whole thing. the stock gears in it now are 3.55. but was wondering what would be a good choice for somthing decent on highway, and good for towing or pushing bigger tires.? thx for the help

For your 33s and auto transmission, 4.56s will put you close to stock feel, with a bit more power

bolt in - just make sure it has the same gear ratio. You'll need new u-bolts and spring plates also (the 8.25 has a larger diameter axle tube). I have a spare set of plates if you want them - they're even painted!

I would love them. What size u bolts? It does have the same gears. So the brakes just re attach the same way? Do I just remove the fuse for abs? Is it that easy? Hopefully its a dedicated fuse?

yup pop out the ABS fuse to disable the system.

The u-bolts are for 3" dia axle tube (3" I.D.) by i believe 8 1/2" long.

make me an offer on the plates.

I'll pm you.
So the u bolts I can just get from Napa. As long as I have the rear drive shaft I won't have to worry about spine count correct? I sure wish I could remove the abs once I disable it. Then I could finally do the cai cowl mod.

99 Sport, 3 in skyjacker lift 31 X 10.50 ATs. I really like the ion alloy wheels, but they are 3 1/2 inch backspacing. Will I have to trim flares, or will they look funky sticking out that much?
