I just bought a welder (small one), I have no experiance with a welder. My question is, what is the best way to clean metal in order to weld? What if the metal has oil, fluid, grim on it?

Default Noise I can't Identify

I have a 2001 Cherokee and I have noticed that everytime I turn the a/c on there is a clicking noise under the hood. Is this something that can be easily fixed?

Does it just click once when it engages, or is it repetitive as long as it is engaged?

Seen a few auto and some manual, don't know what to get.

Boat info is 17' bass tracker. (aluminum)

Thanks.
LoL...i could tow that with my mountain bike. No problem for a 4.0L XJ.

A cooler for an auto tranny is ALWAYS a good idea, regardless of if you're towing.

Im a certified welder.

Use a grinder with a soft floppy wheel.

It wont dig into the metal like the stone wheels.

Thanks.

Always see the F-250's pulling boats.

Thought I would ask.

If its a wire welder (flux or mig), you can learn really easy.

Everything is a rhythm. Good news if you mess up, grind it off and start over.

Try this:

Start your bead in the flat position.

Alternate left to right and count.

1, 2, 3, move to the right, count 1, 2, 3, move to the left.

Keep puddle moving.

Should be good to go.

I was taught a different method. It was to go in a continuous cursive e pattern. But practice and find whatever pattern or style fits you best.

its repetitive. As long as the a/c is running it is clicking. As soon as I turn it off it quits.
