I just bought a welder (small one), I have no experiance with a welder. My question is, what is the best way to clean metal in order to weld? What if the metal has oil, fluid, grim on it?
I have a 2001 Cherokee and I have noticed that everytime I turn the a/c on there is a clicking noise under the hood. Is this something that can be easily fixed?

A cooler for an auto tranny is ALWAYS a good idea, regardless of if you're towing.
Use a grinder with a soft floppy wheel.
It wont dig into the metal like the stone wheels.

Everything is a rhythm. Good news if you mess up, grind it off and start over.
Try this:
Start your bead in the flat position.
Alternate left to right and count.
1, 2, 3, move to the right, count 1, 2, 3, move to the left.
Keep puddle moving.
Should be good to go.
