I did a 3" lift on my xj, and now the rear diff has oil on it, it's not dripping but it is weeping, would a 1" tcase drop take care of this? Or do I need to replace the seal?
I am new to Jeeps, to self repair, and all of that great stuff. I have noticed when I drive the jeep at night there is a white light odorless smoke coming from the driver's side headlight. If I just turn the lights on there is no smoke. Engine must be running. The smoke is so light I wouldn't be able to see it during the day. I have looked behind the light there appears to be no burning or plug issues. When the hood is opened smoke does NOT come up from under the hood. (Have shined a flashlight to check) This only happens from the driver's light area.
It is a 1992 Jeep Cherokee 4L inline 6. Nothing has been modified or changed. Anything replaced was done with OEM parts. The guy who owned it before me had to have the driver's side wiring redone due to mice getting in it as he hardly drove it.
So far I have replaced the CCV hoses, valve cover gasket, and done a tune up to include fuel filter. Very simple for many, but I have had to learn a lot. Loving it so far!

Yes I replaced the headlight as the old one had a crack with a small rock hole in it. Figured that might stop it, but didn't seem to change anything.
