Check the parking brake inside the rear rotors. They may be dragging/hanging up. Also the rear calipers may be sticking. It could be the rear wheel bearings, but that's not as likely. That would be making a noise when driving that you couldn't miss.

I have an idle issue on my 99 Sport 4.0 that I'm hoping someone can help me figure out. In general it runs like new, but when the weather is hot and I have the a/c on, sometimes at stop lights the idle will loop very high and then very low. It never happens when the a/c is not on, and it seems to happen only when it's hot and humid. I changed the plugs, wires cap and rotor this morning, and although it runs better the idle problem is still there. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Here's a silly question, but I have to ask. I have an automatic and I never use the e-brake. Not even sure if it works. The cable is rusting and falling apart. I should be able to cut it with no issues, right?
